Yesterday evening I found out from a friend that our mutual friend's wife committed suicide.

I was shocked. I had not met her before and I haven't seen that friend for at least a decade.

But my heart still twisted. It's kind of ironic, this friend used to always say, 'What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger.' So I reminded him of this quote and told him now he needs to practice what he preached. He said, 'There is truth to that, but it all rallies back to your faith.' It all rallies back to your faith. Allah has filled our lives with blessings and with every day, He adds more and more. And the more blessings, the more opportunities for loss.

But with faith, we cope. With faith, we look ahead for more blessings. With faith, we thank Allah for having the opportunities to experience His blessings even if for a short-term. It all rallies back to faith. Allah is the best of carers. He is the best of healers. He is the best of gifters. Today, take a moment to hug your loved ones a little tighter and longer.
