somethings are not worth changing...77

When I talk to myself, my inside voice, speaks perfect English. No accents or anything. Then I hear myself talk and the words just don't come out the way I want them to. ⠀

I don't really feel self-conscious or negatively about my accent, but I used to TRY TO work on it so I sounded words and letters better. Subconsciously, I wanted to change it. ⠀

Until a Tajik lawyer friend of mine said she loves that she has an accent. In court, she says, people listen a little closer because she sounds 'different'. Since then I cherish my accent just the way it is. ⠀

With iman and life in general, really think, what are you TRYING TO change? What are you resisting? What are you shifting to better comply with your environment?
Do note this won't be obvious to you, as most likely it may be subconscious.) Now think, does it really need changing? ⠀

Be aware what type of things you are putting effort into changing. Somethings are worth changing. They make you a better person. Somethings, however, just need to be cherished and loved JUST the way they are. These are the times when your efforts could be used for more productive things.
